Hello all, Today I’m going to install and configure the “Monit” service monitoring system on Ubuntu server instance.
“Monit “is an free an open source software which is a management system for monitoring and take decisions on some of critical points. Specially monit can be used to monitor customized services which are developed by developers. As an example let’s assume if a developer make a service as “service-1” that can be monitored and controlled like start, stop, restart the service by the Monit. And also every actions are notified by the e-mails and administrator can customized the alert conditions and alert notification settings.
This tutorial will help you install and configure the Monit service monitoring system on Ubuntu server. The steps are given below.first get updates on Ubuntu server, then install the “monit” on the server.
1. In first step, Monit has to be installed via Ubuntu terminal.
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install monit
2. After installation “monit” configuration should be done using the /etc/monit/monitrc file.
$ sudo nano /etc/monit/monitrc
# set httpd port 2812 and
# use address localhost # only accept connection from localhost
# allow localhost # allow localhost to connect to the server and
# allow admin:monit # require user 'admin' with password 'monit'
# allow @monit # allow users of group 'monit' to connect (rw)
# allow @users readonly # allow users of group 'users' to connect readonly
In the above section monit administrator have to enable the port (2812) and the whatever the IP address for accessing the Monit system.
3. Then restart the service monit service. Continue reading
Hello all, today I’m going to describe about installing and configuring OpenERP Version 8 which is the latest version of OpenERP (for more details: https://www.odoo.com/ ). In here we need to care about the requirement of the OpenERP. The followings are the requirements.
- Ubuntu/Linux Server
- Apache Web Server.
- Postgre SQL Server
From here onward i am going to show you step by step on how to install all the requirements and configurations.
- In this step let’s install the necessary Python libraries for the Ubuntu server.
sudo apt-get install python-dateutil python-docutils python-feedparser python-gdata python-jinja2 python-ldap python-libxslt1 python-lxml python-mako python-mock python-openid python-psycopg2 python-psutil python-pybabel python-pychart python-pydot python-pyparsing python-reportlab python-simplejson python-tz python-unittest2 python-vatnumber python-vobject python-webdav python-werkzeug python-xlwt python-yaml python-zsi
- In here we need a specific user account for accessing openerp server because that user specific to run the OpenERP application. So we need to add the “openerp” user in to the system.
sudo adduser --system --home=/opt/openerp --group openerp
- In this step I am going to install the PostgreSQL database server and configuring it.
sudo apt-get install postgresql
sudo su - postgres
createuser --createdb --username postgres --no-createrole --no-superuser --pwprompt openerp
In here enter a password for accessing to the Database and make sure to keep remembering.
- Exit from the current shell and let’s install the OpenERP v8 server on our Ubuntu server. Continue reading
Hello all, today I am going to discuss about how to change FSMO roles in Microsoft Windows server environment. FSMO in the sense Flexible Single Master Operations. The video tutorial available @youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fymyyq9z_r8
Active Directory is the most important in Windows Server Environment because it does contain user details, user accounts, user groups, etc. Active Directory directly help to manage entire IT infrastructure in a Company.
When Active Directory role is changed between Master roles, there are five FSMO roles in Active Directory in Windows Server 2003 platform.
- Schema Roles : this role is responsible for changing, updates and modifications of the Domain Controller.
- Domain Naming Master : Controls to the chnges of the namespace, like addition or removal from the forest.
- Infrastructure Master : Responsible for updating references from objects.
- Relative ID(RID) : Processes RID pool request from all the Domain Controllers.
- PDC Emulator : Advertise itself as PDC to workstations.
Here are the clearly mentioned steps of FSMO role changing. Take a look.
- Log on to the Windows server 2003 as Administrator (adp.com\Administrator) and get run window and type cmd.
- Type regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll in cmd and press ENTER.
- The succeeded window will be appeared. Continue reading

The purpose of this technical document provide specialized information about how to Redirect http to https using the WAMP server.
All the steps are described with images and the commands. This is working 100% per-fectly.
All the configuration are done by manually and steps are mentioned clearly, In here I am going to install a fresh copy of the WAMP server. And configure it to redirect the http://localhost in to https://localhost. Then you can use your own web sites using se-cure http.
In this tutorial I am using X.509 Certificate to grant secure connection to the server. X.509 is widely used for defining digital certificates. It issues a certificate with binding public key to a particular distinguished name.

Hi, Today I’m going to show you how to make the http://localhost to a secure connection. this is the task that I was given my Director – Systems and Operations. then I started searching on the internet as usually.
Normally I installed the Wampserver2.4-x86 on my Windows Server 2012 VMware machine. It was not in-stalled successfully because it said that MSVCR100.dll file is missing from your computer. So I downloaded the .dll file (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr100) and dropped to the correct destination (C:\Windows\SysWOW64) then tried to load the http://localhost, it was loaded but loaded the IIS server which has been already installed on the Windows Server 2012. Hello Guyz… :).. Today In this tutorial I’m going to manage the remote Ubuntu/Linux machines via SSH key pairs. First of all let’s assume there are two Ubuntu servers are available, those are called QA-Server and PP-Server. (Please note, these all commands are run on QA-Server Terminal)
In order to create new user on QA-Serever the server use the following bash commands are used on QA-Serever.
$ sudo useradd -m -s/bin/bash <username>
$ sudo passwd <username>
Under the username you can add whatever the username and then add a relevant password for the created user. Continue reading
Hello, Guyz today I’m going to show you some basic things of SMTP server, before that let’s look at what are the basic things on the SNMP protocol. SMTP in the sense Simple Mail Transfer Protocol which is an internet standard for electronic mail transfer protocol over the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Continue reading
The purpose of this technical document provide specialized information about how to configure NIC (Network Interface Card) Teaming in Microsoft Windows Server 2012.
All the steps are described with images and the commands. This is working 100% per-fectly.
All the configuration are done by manually and steps are mentioned clearly, In here I already installed Windows Server 2012 fresh copy. So I am going to show you how to setup NIC teaming for our server with the necessary screen shots and configuration details.
In Windows Server 2012 has integrated fault tolerance ability in default, under this the NIC teaming is a most important to preventing network failures.
The video tutorial also available @
YouTube URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZdis94_PPw
NIC teaming is a new feature in Microsoft windows server 2012. That is a solution for increase the net-work availability and the performance on the network. So the business continuity is high. Because the all Network Interfaces Cards are acted as a single NIC that’s called “NIC teaming”. In Windows Server 2012 has some grater options with this NIC teaming and also it is a hardware independent.
1. When there is a network failure for a particular NIC interface, that can be han-dled by moving network traffic to the remaining NICs.
2. Another one is the network throughput high because the entire bandwidth is combined with each other.
The image was captured by internet resource
In Microsoft Windows Server 2012 there are two ways to enhance the network availability and the network performance. The first one is host with all interfaces are connected to the same switch this is called “switch depended mode” and another one is host with interfaces are con-nected to different switches this is called “switch independent mode”. In here those two types which can be easily separated like given below. Continue reading
Hello, Guyz, today I’m going to create an automated script for enable system protection on “C” drive (C:\) which is the task I have been assigned. Actually running a script via the domain is something critical because all the user machines are affected to the changes whatever the scripts do. So first of all let’s see what are the steps to achieve this goal.
As a condition, I have to configure the scripts for checking system protection is enabled at each logon. So now let’s make a plan.
- What type of script that is possible on this task.
- How to write the script according to the selected type.
- How to run the script on the domain user machines.
These are the basic steps to achieve the goal. let’s get one by one to realize for the task.
What type of script that is possible on this task.
I searched most of the site for enabling system protection via .bat file, .vbs file, .ps1 file. As I realized powershell script was the best way to create a script to handle this because powershell has a inbuilt commands to enable system protection.
How to write the script according to the selected type
When I try to write the script I got a problem, how to check whether the system protection is already enable or not. So I found a solution to overcome this problem which is actually bat script. In that bat script it is looking for that the particular registry value is “0” or “1”(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> SOFTWARE-> Microsoft-> Windows NT-> CurrentVersion-> SystemRestore ).
